Evie Litwok was born and raised in New York City. Her first year of college was at Carnegie Mellon, where she majored as a pianist. From there, she earned a graduate degree in psychology, took a loooooooong stint in the Women's Movement and landed on Wall Street managing money.

Ultimately, it was her passion for the five Maltese dogs she lived with tht led her to write a book from the perspective of the "Matriarch Maltese" named Tippy. The book was followed by the making of her first feature film, The Tippy Story, which premiered at the Delray Beach Film Festival in 2006.
